Reuters, Dubai, December 5-Iranian media quoted a senior Iranian Foreign Ministry official on Sunday as saying that the United States’ unwillingness to lift all sanctions on Iran is the main challenge to reviving the 2015 nuclear agreement.

Indirect negotiations between Washington and Tehran on the restoration of the nuclear agreement are interrupted https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/iran-nuclear-talks-break-friday-with-formal-meeting-officials-2021- On Friday, 12-03, both parties stated that they would resume next week, as Western officials expressed disappointment at the full requirements of the Islamic Republic.

Iran’s Tasnim News Agency quoted the official who asked not to be named as saying: “It is now clear that Washington’s reluctance to completely abandon sanctions is the main challenge to the progress of the negotiations.”

“We believe that if the U.S. government abandons the campaign to exert maximum pressure, and the European parties show serious flexibility and political will in the negotiations, then an agreement can be achieved.”

Iran and the major powers began negotiations in April to allow Tehran and Washington to fully comply with the agreement that was abandoned by former US President Donald Trump three years ago.

But negotiations stopped after the election of Abram Resi, who elected Iran in June.

One year after Trump re-imposed severe sanctions on Iran, Tehran began to gradually violate the agreement’s nuclear restrictions.

Iran hopes to lift all sanctions imposed by the United States through verifiable procedures.

A senior U.S. State Department official said on Saturday that despite stressing that the U.S. still wants to restore the agreement, under the agreement, Iran restricts its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions.
