Scott performed two songs, “Mafia” and “Lost Forever”, with introductions by Sean “Daddy” Combs and French Montana.
It was Scott’s first major public performance since a crowd at the Astroworld Music Festival in Houston last November killed 10 people and injured thousands.
Didi, executive producer and host of this year’s Billboard Music Awards, recently said he felt strongly about having Scott on the show.
“I made a request. I made a request. I said ‘my brother Travis Scott has to act. Didi is running the show. I’m an executive producer. He has to act,’ NBC said ‘yes’ .’ It’s going down. On Sunday, Travis Scott will perform. Let’s go,” Didi said in an Instagram post.
He also told REVOLT, “I’m canceling cancel cancel.”
Scott and his longtime partner Kylie Jenner walked the red carpet with their young daughter Stormy earlier in the evening.
