The new “Talk” host Akbar Gbajabiamila follows Michael Strahan to prepare for the show

Former NFL player Gbajabiamila will participate in the upcoming 12th season with Shirley Underwood, Amanda Klotz and Jerry O’Connell.

In order to gain some skills in hosting the show, he called his fellow athlete and turned to the host of “Good Morning America” ​​Michael Strahan for help.

“We played at the same time, but I never met him, never knew him. He knew my brother, but we really didn’t cross that way,” Gajabiamila said people.

Gbajabiamila called Strahan “one of the coolest guys on the planet, and a humble and kind guy.”

“He just gave me a dime, like the Nuggets here and there, here and there. So I am forever grateful for that time and that opportunity,” he told the publication. “We still keep in touch. I just visited him there, about two months ago, in New York, and went out for dinner or something. He was very inspiring.”

Gbajabiamila is looking forward to the start, he said he likes to be in a team environment.

“Apart from this team, I am very happy to be a part of it,” he said.

Speaking of the new season, he said: “We are about to hold a party.”

The 12th season of “The Talk” premiered on CBS on September 13.
