ZURICH (Reuters) – Swiss voters on Sunday appeared set to back a proposal to invest in domestic movie productions by global TV streaming services such as Netflix Inc (NASDAQ: ) Amazon (NASDAQ: ) and Disney.

According to an early forecast by broadcaster SRF, about 58 percent of voters back the proposal, one of three national votes held over the weekend under Switzerland’s direct democracy system.

In a binding referendum on the so-called “Lex Netflix”, voters will decide whether the international streaming service must invest 4% of its Swiss revenue in local film production, as domestic broadcasters are now doing.
