Madrid (Reuters)-According to data released by the Spanish Ministry of Labor on Tuesday, the number of registered unemployed persons in Spain in December fell by 76,782, or 2.41%, from November, resulting in 3.1 million unemployment.
This is the tenth consecutive month that the unemployment rate has fallen, and it is also the lowest since 2007 in December.
Separate data from the Ministry of Social Security showed that Spain had a net increase of 70,814 jobs that month, while approximately 102,548 people still participated in the state-sponsored vacation program, a decrease of 35,000 from a month ago.
According to the Ministry, this brought the number of registered workers to 19.98 million, a record for the Spanish labor market.
