Shure’s Aonic 40 headphones offer ANC and custom equalizers for $249

Follow up Onik 50 For the headphones that debuted at CES 2020, Shure today announced a more affordable noise reduction option. With Aonic 40, the company offers a design similar to its advanced model, maintains adjustable active noise reduction (ANC) and on-board control, and has a slightly longer battery life than the 2020 version.

Although the debut price of the Aonic 40 is $150 lower than its siblings two years ago, the price of this new model has not been reduced. Shure chose a combination of aluminum and nylon and modified the Aonic 50’s silver and black or silver and white/tan color scheme. The earmuffs on the 40 can rotate flat and fold inwards for easy storage, making it a good choice for travel.

Shure

Shure said that you can expect its “iconic sound” and fully customizable equalizer through the ShurePlus Play app on Android and iOS. The software will allow you to save any created settings for future access. The app also allows you to choose between three ANC options and adjust the environment mode (ambient sound). Shure also said that the software is equipped with a high-resolution music player that can be used with Aonic 40.

As is typical of today’s headsets, Shure hyped the call quality with dual beamforming microphones. In addition to volume adjustment and access to ANC and ambient sound options, the on-board controls also allow you to easily answer these questions. The company said that when the active noise reduction function is turned on, the battery life can be up to 25 hours-while the Aonic 50 is 20 hours. In addition, the fast charging option can provide 5 hours of use within 15 minutes.

Aonic 40 is now available in black and white colors, priced at $249.
