TMZ obtained photos of Ray on Sunday, May 22 — just four days after his sudden death in the island nation — and the woman who was lucky enough to take a selfie of the two of them said he was affable and accepted as much as possible.
Alba She told us that she was strolling down the BlueMall in Santo Domingo when she caught a glimpse of Ray walking into a pharmacy alongside a few waiters.
While RL is inside, Alba walks up to his co-workers and asks if she can get close…and they give her a thumbs up. Alba said Ray hugged her and was very gracious…even complimenting her on her good English because she’s a PhD student.
Alba would keep asking the question – asking for a selfie, not his marriage – and Ray said yes without hesitation! Once Alba was happy with her photo, Ray said goodbye.
As we reported, Ray is dead In his sleep Thursday, he was accompanied by his fiancée in the Dominican Republic for a film called “Dangerous Waters.” Sources close to the situation told us that Ray was in good spirits and happy to be working…and there were no signs of any health issues that led to his death. This is backed up by this photo – he looks quite energetic.
Ray’s former cast members, colleagues and fans have taken to social media to express their huge support for the beloved actor… While this selfie may be a drop in the bucket, it’s an exclamation point for someone like him. He is only 67 years old.
