Pristina, Kosovo (Associated Press)-US President Joe Biden said that Kosovo awarded his late son a medal, which moved him very much BoHelped to establish the rule of law in the Balkan countries 20 years ago because of its independence from Yugoslavia.

Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008, a decade after the brutal war between Albanian separatist rebels and the Serbian army from 1998 to 1999. After the 78-day NATO air strikes drove the Serbian army out and stationed peacekeeping forces, the war ended.
President Biden Described the medal as “unbelievable” and “very honored to recognize our son’s legacy.”

Most Western countries recognize Kosovo, but Serbia and its allies Russia and China do not. Tensions in Kosovo continue to be the source of turbulence in the Balkans.
