Pankaj Tripathi said I would be sad if people didn’t know my name, only the character

Pankaj Tripathi made his Bollywood debut with Run in 2004, but it wasn’t until much later that the actor was recognized for his on-screen performances. Sultan Qureshi’s role in the Wasipur gang brought the actor to the spotlight. It wasn’t long before his rise was endless, with back-to-back power hits. In a recent interview, Pankaj Tripathi talked about the long road he’s come, and how just being recognized for his screen roles isn’t something that makes him happy.

In a recent interview, Pankaj Tripathi said: “If people called me by my character’s name today, I would have liked it more. However, in the beginning, about six or seven years ago, I would have been because people didn’t know my name. And feel bad. Names. They’ll say, ‘aap actor ho, uss film mein Sultan ka role kiya tha’ I always want them to know my name. Today, everyone knows my name, but they love my character so much , that they deliberately called me by those names,” he commented.

He also added: “Every year there is a fan who plants a tree for my birthday. Another one I met while filming Falkley 3 in Delhi. He shouted for two or three hours about how big a fan he was. .Yes.But we were not allowed to click on the photo while we were wearing the character costumes in case the appearance leaked.I later received a handwritten note for him.

The actor also added that he felt very sad when his fans couldn’t take pictures with him. He added: “Bura lagta hai jabuske baad bhi tasveer nahi khincha sakta. To my surprise, I have fans at every age, from eight-year-olds to seniors,”

Pankaj Tripathi also commented on how overwhelming the love he received from fans made him emotional. He said, “Logon ki ummeedein badh gayi hain, uss trust ko barkaraar rakhun. People tell me they will listen to me. They will watch my interviews on YouTube. Itna sammaan hai, emotional ho jaata hoon.”
