Those who have not been vaccinated and want to continue working at Netflix, Facebook, or Google in the near future are best to roll up their sleeves… get the injection, because it will be mandatory.
There was news on Wednesday that all three media giants need to be vaccinated against COVID in office/field work. CEO of Google, Sundar PichaiAccording to reports, the company sent an email to employees stating that due to the recent peak period of Delta Air Lines, they postponed the return of all employees to the office until October 18.
However, he also pointed out that anyone returning to work in the office must be vaccinated and show evidence. It is unclear whether Google will continue to let employees work part-time from home-they say they will allow this in December… Once everything returns to normal, employees will need to work at least 3 days a week.
Facebook came out and said they would do this soon-confirming that employees who wish to work in the U.S. office in the future need to prove that they have been given the opportunity… and also provide some small concessions for those who do not.’ Don’t be vaxxed by saying that medical and/or other reasons will be considered and evaluated as they are on the way forward.
Netflix also implemented similar measures this week. According to reports, they told their in-house production team and partners that people working in the “A zone”-including actors and people close to them-will be required to be vaccinated.
They seem to be the first studio to take a hard line on this issue-other studios may now follow suit because they have already taken this uncertain first step.
At the same time, Netflix’s regular employees were basically WFH during the pandemic—their CEO, Reed Hastings, Implying that he hates… and hopes to end immediately after most of his workforce is vaccinated. He called WFH “pure feminine.”
This is an interesting move for everyone-as time goes on, more and more companies seem to be inclined to enforce the jab… This is bad news for anti-vaccineists.
