Neetu Kapoor is set to mark her comeback with the upcoming film Jug Jugg Jeeyo. The veteran actress has a huge following who are excited to see her in the film. In a recent interview with The Times of India, the actress discussed her return to the screen, her son Ranbir Kapoor’s reaction, and more.
She was asked how Ranbir Kapoor reacted when she signed Jug Jugg Jeeyo. In response, she said: “Actually it was Ranbir’s idea. When my husband died, we were all heartbroken and we didn’t know what happened. So Karan (Johar) and Ranbir ate at my house, My kids, my daughter and Ranbir were discussing what I was going to do next. I said “I’ll never know”. I never thought I’d make a movie. Ranbir suggested I get back to work, which I didn’t have at the time Don’t know what to expect. Karan, who was also present at the time, said, “I’m going to dig a theme for you, mainly kal aa raha hu”. She further revealed that he came the next day with the director who read the script to her .Nitu liked the script very much and will definitely do it.
Neetu Kapoor also spoke candidly about how returning to work has eased the pain of losing her husband, Rishi Kapoor. She said: “It’s like putting ointment on my wound, I feel good, I’m doing something. It takes my mind off the sadness and it feels good. A good movie comes at the right time, The one that helped me through this. I will always be very grateful to Karan.”
Returning to work on set has also become a source of confidence for the actress. She said: “I’m confident again and if given the chance, I’ll want to do more. I never thought I’d make movies again. My life is my husband and my kids, I never thought if Nothing else is the best thing to do, work and keep yourself busy.”
At the end of the interview, Neetu Kapoor was asked about her future projects. “A lot of work channels have opened up now,” she said. “There’s Netflix and other OTT platforms, so I’ll be doing something. I have a show that I’ll start working on in October.”
