N. Ireland’s DUP cautiously welcomes post-Brexit trade plan

LONDON, May 17 (Reuters) – Northern Ireland’s Democratic Unionist Party leader Jeffrey Donaldson said he would take a “gradual and cautious approach” to planned legislation in Britain to overturn some of the divorce European Agreement.

“We would like to see progress on a bill to address these issues in days and weeks rather than months. We will take a gradual and cautious approach as the legislation progresses,” Donaldson told parliament on Tuesday.

He initially welcomed the planned legislation, calling it “decisive action”. (Reporting by Kylie MacLellan, Writing by Muvija M; Editing by William James)
