NEW YORK – Major League Baseball and the Players Association have given teams until June 19 to add a pitcher.
Major League Baseball and the union said on March 31 that the 13-pitcher limit would be enforced from May 2, before announcing on April 16 that the date would be pushed back to May 30. They said Thursday that the 13-pitcher limit will come into effect on June 20, before allowing 14 pitchers per team.
Major League Baseball and the union said they made changes as they continue to monitor players’ health.
