It’s been a difficult season for the Los Angeles Lakers.
With a 31-41 record, the LeBron James-led Lakers are clinging to a play-in spot in the Western Conference.
So, how is James blocking out the critics? He goes home after games, drinks some alcohol, hangs out with his family and plays video games.
“I could care less about what the narrative about our team is,” James said after the Lakers 131-120 win over the Cavaliers on Monday. “At my point in my career, I don’t get involved in that stuff. I don ‘t read about it, I don’t hear it too much. I go home, drink wine or tequila every night and if I’m at my house in LA I’m watching a movie with the kids or I’m playing ‘ Madden.’”
Despite the Lakers’ struggles, James has continued to perform at an MVP level while healthy. At age 37, James is leading the NBA in scoring at 30 points per game. He surpassed Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo and Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid in the statistic after his 38 -point triple-double against his former team on Monday night.
“I’m having a blast playing the game of basketball,” James said. “Like I said the other night, I get frustrated and angry from losses and things we could have done better and things of that nature, but s*** , I mean, once I leave the arena, I’ll leave it there.

“I’m literally having the time of my life right now. The game is such a beautiful thing, and as long as I’m healthy enough to put on a uniform, I’m gonna play with a lot of passion and a lot of energy and give my teammates what they deserve and what they need.”
