Kodak black I found myself in jail on New Year’s Eve—despite a short period of time—but it sounds like a big misunderstanding…at least according to his lawyers.
KB’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, Told TMZ…Yes, his client was indeed arrested on Saturday morning near Pompano Beach, Florida, on charges of misdemeanor and trespass-but insisted that it was a false bankruptcy. ….. based on the stop or stop letter 4 months ago.
This is the deal… Cohen said that Kodak went to his old Grenack neighborhood on vacation with some friends, and paid credit card debts for five families living in the area, and they paid for Christmas gifts. Their children and relatives.
When he was there at some point, we were told that the police showed up and took Kodak into custody-telling him he violated a letter issued by the local housing authority.
You may remember that letter…it was fired in response to Kodak’s provision of air-conditioning to people there in September. HA obviously did not appreciate this letter. In any case, this time Kodak’s appearance seems to have triggered a call to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
This is why Cohen believes that the arrest is unfounded-first of all, he said that C&D never arrived at Kodak, which means it was not delivered properly because it was delivered to his record company, not to him personally. Second, he said that the letter did not mention not to enter the venue, so it should not be used as the basis for any arrest.
BSO told us that they booked Kodak at around 3:02 am, and he was released on bail of $25 a few hours later. It is unclear whether this will have any impact on Kodak’s regulated issuance.
