Katy Perry This holiday weekend sent a message expressing disappointment at Roe v. Wade’s decision — but all Twitter wanted to do was point out what it thought was hypocrisy.
The singer tweeted Monday about the 4th of July and what it means in her eyes after the Supreme Court ruled to overturn the landmark decision… in fact almost immediately in several countries across the country. Abortion is banned in the state, and more to come.

“‘Baby You Are Fireworks’ is 10 years old, but women in America have less smh than real fireworks,” she wrote sarcastically — apparently referring to her 2010 track of the same name.
NBD, or so you’d think…instead of being praised for her pro-choice mood here – as many celebrities have been lately – Katie is now literally being dragged to no end. It’s all about her public support for the mayor of Los Angeles… aka, Rick Caruso.
As we reported… KP is one of them celebrity endorsement Billionaire entrepreneur and real estate developer running for mayor. While he didn’t win outright in the June election, he has a chance to compete in the November runoff. Rep. Karen Bass.
Question… Caruso, running as a Democrat, has been known for years for taking a flippant stance on abortion, at least that’s what old interviews from the 2000s suggest.Until recently…Rick was a Republican and he donated money to a lot of Republicans, including people who said they were giving money for abortion rights – all of that he was called out late.
As your mayor, I will vigorously protect women’s right to choose. Reproductive freedom is a fundamental human right, and any threat to this freedom endangers all women, especially the most vulnerable in our society. #CarusoCan pic.twitter.com/i3pR7XNRTt

Now, he says he supports choice and touts himself as an advocate for women’s rights.Unfortunately for him (and it seems for Katie)…Twitter doesn’t buy it, and they told Katie Sit down because of her great support for him.
She’s far from the only celebrity backing Caruso, though— Kim Kardashian She was also behind him on the eve of last month’s election…but she seemed wise to avoid Twitter, bemoaning abortions lately.
Instead, she voiced her displeasure via IG Stories — random people can’t comment or follow her as easily as they can on the old bird app. In hindsight it was a wise move.
