Kamala Harris will visit Vietnam and Singapore in August: security, COVID-19, climate change top agenda

Her office said on Friday that Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Vietnam and Singapore in August to strengthen relations with the United States and expand economic cooperation.

She will be the first vice president to visit Vietnam and the highest-level official of the Biden administration to visit Asia.

Senior Advisor Symone Sanders stated that the Vice President will “engage with the leaders of the two governments on issues of common concern, including regional security, the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and our joint efforts to promote Rules of international order.”

This will be Ms. Harris’s second visit as Vice President after visiting Mexico and Guatemala in June, aiming to solve the “root cause” of illegal immigration in Central America.
