The insertion hand worn by Depp in the 1990 hit Edward Scissorhands just sold at auction for a staggering $81,250 — nearly double what auction experts expected the item to sell for.
In early May, auction house Propstore, known for peddling multimillion-dollar movie collectibles, announced it would start auctions on June 21. That includes Depp’s sharp numbers.
At the sale announcement, when Johnny and amber heard Locked in a trial period, Scissorhands is expected to sell for between $30,000 and $50,000.
However, our auction sources expressed interest in trials, particularly Depp’s victory, which helped drive the price up – leading to Tuesday’s live auction, where they ended up selling for $81,250! ! !
It’s not the only hot Depp product on the market. TMZ revealed that Johnny’s motorcycle in “Crying Baby” will also be hit the auction block Soon…the starting price is $250,000.
While “Scissorhands” is gone, the Propstore auction is running until the end of the week.
Some other items that have already sold include Quake ($162,500) and Tom Hank‘Wilson’ from ‘Castaway’ sold for a staggering $187,500.
