Shocking eyewitness accounts of Fiona’s damage went viral on social media this weekend, with residents observing fallen trees, destroyed buildings and flooding.

“I saw houses in the ocean,” said René J. Roy, who lives in Channel-Port Aux Basques and is editor of the local news outlet Wreckhouse Press, Tell USA Today. “I saw rubble all over the place. It was utter devastation. There was one apartment missing, just rubble.”
