The Indian Air Force said on Twitter that the helicopter carrying General Bipingrawat had crashed in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
The Indian Air Force stated that a helicopter carrying General Bipingrawat, the Minister of Defense of India, crashed in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
The Indian Air Force said on Twitter on Wednesday: “An IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter carrying CDS Gen Bipin Rawat had an accident today near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu.”
The Air Force did not say whether Lavat was injured in the accident.
I hope CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife and others will be safe on the helicopter.

Prasar Bharati, the Indian public broadcaster, said that the three injured had been taken to the hospital.
Television footage showed that when local residents tried to extinguish the helicopter, the helicopter caught fire.

Rawat is the most senior official in the Indian army and an adviser to the Ministry of Defense. He assumed the newly created position after retiring from the Army Chief of Staff last year.
The Press Trust of India stated that the Mi-17V5 helicopter crashed near Kunur in Tamil Nadu on the way from the air base to the Army Defense Service Academy.
