HBO is dragged to court over a fire that destroyed a show…as people living next door claim it destroyed their homes.
HBO and stars, Mark Ruffalosued for a May 2019 fire that destroyed an upstate New York car dealership that was used as a filming location for the miniseries “I Know It’s Real.”
According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, some people who said they lived near burned properties claimed that the fires exposed them to harmful toxins and carcinogens and damaged their homes.
What’s more, neighbors say, the production team and HBO haven’t done much to clean up the fire scene…they say it remains an “undiscovered and unabated heap of debris, toxin leaks and wind-driven dust and Gas diffusion.”
Neighbors say HBO and Mark, who is also an executive producer, are to blame for the fire… They claim the film was a powder keg because kerosene, heating oil and other flammable materials were stored at the filming location.
In the documents, neighbors say they suffered and will continue to suffer physical and mental harm…and they are seeking millions of dollars in damages.
HBO did not comment on the lawsuit.
