Gunneris an innocent and charitable man, and the cops who arrested him were wrong to use his music and lyrics against him… so says the rapper’s legal team.
We have just obtained a statement from Gunna’s attorneys, who told us, “Mr. Sergio Kitchens, known as Gunna, is innocent. The indictment falsely describes his music as part of a criminal conspiracy.”
They also point to some of Gunna’s contributions to his community, including the first free local on-campus grocery and clothing store, feeding more than 400 children each week, and providing state sponsorship for victims of disasters and food shortages ‘s giveaway.
The legal team of Donald F. Samuel, John A. Garland and Kristen W. Novay told us, “Mr. Kitchens has been an advocate for his community and we have the privilege of defending him.”
As we reported, Gunna turned himself in on Wednesday, two days after Young Thug’s home was raided and the rapper was arrested. Both were arrested on RICO charges, and they were arrested in a 56-count, 28-person indictment in Fulton County, Georgia.
Among the lyrics listed in the indictment, “I killed his man in front of his mother like f*** lil bruh and sister and his cousin,” and Young Thug’s “My trigger started itch”.
Both Gunna and Young thug were charged with gang involvement, possession with intent to sell a range of drugs and receipt of stolen goods.
