Rumors surrounding Google’s upcoming Pixel smartwatch have been circulating for over a year, and while we know some details about the product, a specific release date hasn’t even been speculated.

Today, things have changedLeaker Jon Prosser posted on Twitter that Google plans to launch the Pixel Watch on May 26, a date that coincides with the company’s I/O developer conference.

Prosser has previously said that Google may pixel 6 October, but warns that date is a moving target. He later corrected the schedule, claiming that the watch had been pushed back to the first quarter of 2022. Now the device looks likely to arrive in the second quarter.

While Google has yet to confirm a release date — also the existence of the Pixel Watch —The latest leaks so far should encourage Android users to wait for a proper Apple Watch competitor because, as Prosser points out, this is “the first time we’ve seen a fixed date on a device behind the scenes.” Additionally, last year’s Google I/O 2022 conference, which ran from May 18-20, would be a logical launch pad as Google released Wear OS 3 here, which made the most sense for its watch operating system in years renew.

We’ve been hearing about smartwatches made by Google for quite some time now, and while Google has quelled those rumors over the past few years, now may finally be the time. One December report Claims that the device will be codenamed “Rohan” and that it will have a round face (basically like all other Android smartwatches). It is said to offer basic fitness tracking, such as step count and heart rate monitoring, together with other functions Taken from Google Fitbit.

After completing its acquisition of Fitbit last year, there’s been a lot of speculation about what Google will do with smartwatches. It’s unclear if the company will release a Pixel-branded device or go the Nest route and put its smartwatch division under the Fitbit brand. Anything is possible, but leaks and rumors suggest the wearable will be a companion device to Google’s smartphones.

If past leaks are accurate, we’ve already seen the device.Late last year, Prosser Posted on his YouTube channel He claimed to be an official promotional photo. They showed off a watch similar to the April rendering — it had a circular design with barely a bezel and a waterfall edge on the dial.

As for specs, the rumored wearable could be powered by a Samsung Exynos chip and support Google Assistant, according to sources from 9to5Googlee claims to have found the “PIXEL_EXPERIENCE_WATCH” feature tag in the Google app. One might think Google would turn to Qualcomm, but keep in mind that Google worked with Samsung to help fix its ill-fated smartwatch operating system. We wouldn’t be surprised if this partnership also involved using each other’s hardware.

We don’t know how much the watch will cost, but recently Business Insider Report, proved edge, claiming it will be more expensive than the Fitbit and priced to rival the Apple Watch. Like the Apple Watch, the Pixel Watch (if it has the name) requires a daily charge. Regardless, we think most of what we “know” about the Pixel Watch is based on speculation and rumors, so this Android user is keeping his excitement in check.
