The debate about the artist’s responsibility to stop the show in a crowd emergency has fallen to George LopezThe feet…though this one may not be cut and dried.
The comedian performed at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio on Friday. At some point during his performance…a man started to get into trouble in the upper balcony area so that the lights in the house were turned on.
Take a look at this video obtained by TMZ…It shows that a few minutes after we were told that the gentleman described as middle-aged and the people around him lost consciousness-including people who appeared to be in his own party- Take care of him.
Eventually, people issued a warning to the event staff… he was carried into an ambulance. The San Antonio Fire Department confirmed that he had regained consciousness and was in stable condition in the hospital.
At the same time…you can see and hear George on the stage continuing his set, seeming to turn all the commotion into his real jokes-actually got some laughs. Of course, some people in the crowd felt that he should make a difficult pause—and more importantly, felt that he was not suitable for making jokes about what was happening.
In George’s defense, he didn’t seem to be fully aware of what happened… and admitted it in our editing. We have contacted his representative…no response yet.
