Frank Sepe and Don Saladino show how to better build your back

Frank Seppe and Don Saladino recently took Sleeveless on the road, hitting the iconic Bev Francis’ gym in Syosset, NY. This episode features world-renowned experts and trainers showing you how to build a big back, and no rep is spared. They start training with a basic lat pulldown.

“The first set was the warm-up. We got the old-fashioned straight bar. Loved the bar,” Sepe said. You can do this exercise with any long-cable accessory your gym offers. You’ll notice they save time by letting the next person leave as soon as the others are done. With little rest, it saves time at the gym.

After pulling down, they move to the row of T-bars. Two people have different approaches to their madness. Sepe is more upright, while Saladino is slightly bent.

“I like a little hinge,” he says on camera.After several groups of work, they chose Lighter weight, more reps At the end. The third exercise is another high pull down, but with the machine handles separated as you squat. Sepe ended up doing several partial reps in tribute to his friend and former Arnold Classic Men’s Fitness champion Andre Ferguson.

Old-school themed workouts also include wide-grip seated rows, straight-arm pulldowns, and low-cable seated rows.

Build a Big Back Workout

  • wide-grip pull-down – 5 sets of 12-15 reps*
  • T-shaped row – 2 sets of 10-15 reps. 1 set of 30 reps.
  • Latissimus dorsi pull-down machine – 3 sets of 10-15 reps (parts included)
  • Wide Grip Seated Rowing Machine – 4 sets of 10-15 reps
  • Latissimus dorsi pull-down – 3 sets of 15-20 reps
  • Low Cable Seated Row – 4 sets of 12 reps

*The last group should be a drop group. Start with a heavy weight and reduce it as you reach failure.
