KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters)-The British company known for its high-tech vacuum cleaners told Reuters that Dyson terminated its relationship with supplier ATA IMS Bhd after conducting an audit of the labor practices of the Malaysian company and the allegations of whistleblowers. .

Dyson said it had commissioned an audit of ATA’s working conditions earlier this year, and the results were received on October 4.

Dyson said that in addition, it learned in September that a whistleblower had made allegations of unacceptable conduct by ATA staff and immediately commissioned an international law firm to conduct further investigations.

In a statement to Reuters, Dyson said: “Despite the intense contact in the past six weeks, we have not seen enough progress and have dismantled some production lines.” “We are now six months ahead of schedule. The month’s notice of the contract terminated our relationship.”

ATA, which makes parts for Dyson vacuum cleaners and air purifiers, did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment.

According to ATA, Dyson accounts for nearly 80% of its revenue.

After a well-known rights activist stated that US authorities would review the company’s work practices, ATA denied allegations of forced labor in its factories in May.
