Eminem bought Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT that looks like him for $452,000

Grammy Award-winning rapper Eminem has joined Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and purchased a non-fungible token (NFT) on the OpenSea platform for 123.45 ether ($462,000).

Eminem acquires BAYC NFT

The famous Detroit rapper Eminem has joined Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC).

The NFT named “EminApe” depicts Eminem’s iconic Bored Ape character, wearing a khaki military cap and a gold chain necklace, both of which he often uses Wear In real life. BAYC member GeeGazza sold digital art for 123.45 ETH, which is approximately US$450,000. In November 2021, GeeGazza tweeted: “I still think Eminem is destined to buy my @BoredApeYC one day.”

Sixth, a digital agency that has worked with celebrities in the NFT industry, including Wu-Tang Clan, Tycho and Galantis, is responsible for this transaction. This is not Eminem’s first foray into NFT: under the nickname “Xia De Holdings,” The musician now owns 15 NFTs on OpenSea.

In a tweet, GeeGazza, a BAYC member who sells monkeys, thanked the artist for buying the NFT. “I live in a simulation,” he wrote, adding: “Crazy. Let me write the lyrics for your next single.”

Rapper holds NFTs from different collections

Slim Shady owns 166 non-fungible token (NFT) assets from 32 collections, according to dappradar.com Statistical data. After purchasing BAYC #9055 at 123.45, the address currently has 1.52 Ether. Eminem received 124 ether from an account named georgio.eth on ENS. The account has 504 NFTs from 51 different series, including Bored Ape Yacht Club #4936, and spent 43.98 Ether (US$164,832) on two Cryptopunks.

SABC #2615, Shaq Gives Back #4077 and Adult Fantasy Sub-Dude (130/151) are Eminem’s other NFTs. In fact, the Shady Holdings address contains a large number of ERC721 NFTs.

Eminem’s NFT consumer frenzy emerged after the beat-inspired animation NFT he produced for Stains, which was released in April. Eminem’s NFT sales take place on the Nifty Gateway NFT platform. Slim Shady and Paul Rosenberg also joined a series of venture funds that invested $30 million in Makersplace, the NFT market, in August.

Eminem officially joined the second largest NFT project on OpenSea with his new EminApe. According to CryptoSlam, BAYC has sold 284,765 ETH (US$977.6 million) in secondary transactions so far, and the reserve price is now 60 ETH (US$220,000).

The rapper has joined many other celebrities, including NBA player Stephen Curry and talk show host Jimmy Fallon.

Bored Apes recently surpassed CryptoPunks in terms of reserve price, which is a huge achievement for a project that only started in April 2021.
