Devon Larratt is considered the most famous wrestler in the world. The 6’5” 283 lb Canadian is multiple times WAL (world arm wrestling league) heavyweight champions use both right and left hands and have an impressive reputation for beating people older than themselves at the table, such as The strongest man in the world, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson “Mountain” etc.
Larratt’s love of wrestling began at age 5 thanks to his grandmother who got him started in a sport that will forever be a part of his life.
“I’ve been involved in multiple wrestling clubs, toured around the world, and played in basically all leagues,” Larat said. “I am both an athlete and a student and a fan of the sport.”
When Devon Larratt was about 18, he met a professional who introduced him to the real arm wrestling scene, and he was hooked. “I fell in love with it and I never really looked back,” Larat said. “I haven’t taken my attention away from it since then, and I’m 47 now, so 30 years of competitive arm wrestling has been solid.”
Larratt’s astonishing stamina, strength and limitless mentality proved the secret to success in his wrestling career, helping him defeat Michael “Monster” Todd in King of the Table 1 and pull the greatest of all time in King of the Table John Brzenk 2.
But he won’t stop there. Larett now plans to take on seven-time world arm wrestling champion, six-time European champion and 2017 World Cup winner Lewandezaghi Nashvili. Weighing 415 pounds, the “Georgia Hulk” is considered a force to be reckoned with in the art of traction – Saginashvili’s unusually strong power speaks for itself.
And so, on June 25th, the two best wrestlers of this generation will play live on Core Sports as the King of Table 4 main event. It is already considered the most anticipated arm wrestling match of all time. While Larett is considered an underdog to some extent, he is stronger than ever in this game.

Looking at Larat’s physique, you might wonder how far he can curl. Despite his sturdy arms, he trained at most once and pushed to failure as arm grabbers are a thing of the past.
“I rarely test my one-max because I don’t believe in failure,” Larat said. “I think training failure is a really bad idea and it’s counterproductive,” he said. Devon Larratt rarely gets close to his max, and he finds that he benefits more from consistency and good volume. Not to mention, trying to stay injury-free.
“When you’re doing your biggest lifts and your biggest attempts, it’s only a matter of time before you get injured,” he said. “You can’t really train like that and end up not getting hurt.” The best effort is reserved for the game, he said.
After suffering an arm fall injury that resulted in three surgeries (one that produced a cup of bone spurs and calcification in the area of his right elbow), it’s safe to say that Larat is now training smarter work with a specific force.
