China fights COVID-19 clusters around Nanjing

China Fighting against one of the worst COVID-19 outbreaks in months, after the outbreak in the eastern city of Nanjing, officials cancelled flights and conducted large-scale tests.

More than 170 cases were related to clusters that started at Nanjing Airport and spread to multiple provinces.

According to CNN, Beijing reported the infection of a couple who had traveled outside the city and were affected by the cluster. This is the first case reported in the capital in six months.

The authorities stated that the new outbreak was driven by the delta variant of the coronavirus, which is plagued the United States and countries around the world.

The virus that disrupted the world began in the central Chinese city of Wuhan at the end of 2019.

Scientists and politicians are arguing whether the virus is of pure natural origin or leaked from a virology laboratory in Wuhan that specializes in bat coronaviruses.

ChinaThe Communist Party government stated that it managed to contain most of the outbreaks through severe lockdowns and large-scale testing and surveillance, although some people doubted the accuracy of their case and mortality statistics.

China According to reports, the country has vaccinated 1.6 billion doses of vaccine for its huge population and donated more to other countries.

However, compared with the messenger RNA vaccines used in the United States and many Western countries, scientists question its effectiveness.
