substitute Chase Stokes The hit show “The Outer Banks” was killed in a horrific car crash this week — as filming continues in South Carolina for the new season.
22 years old Alexander ‘AJ’ Jennings He was hit by two vehicles in Charleston on Tuesday morning, and both vehicles fled the scene. He died of his injuries from two hit-and-runs – the coroner’s office listed his death at 3.13am.
According to preliminary reports, Jennings was walking on a main road between James Island and Folly Beach when he was hit around 2am. The first car killed him, and shortly after that…Jennings was apparently hit by a second car, which also split – although the driver was reportedly later stopped at a traffic stop .
Lifesaving measures were unsuccessful…Jennings died of his injuries. His employer Kimmie Stewart Casting confirmed that Jennings had been filming “OB” for John B, as the lead character of the Netflix series, portrayed by Chase.
KSC wrote: “I cannot comprehend the shock and tragedy of AJ’s sudden loss and our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. I understand that for those who have met and become good friends with AJ, this pieces of information can be difficult to process.”
The agency added that Netflix offers grief counseling for those in need – as AJ appears to have many friends in the production. It seems that one of those friends is Chase himself…he also paid tribute to AJ via social media.
He wrote, “Still trying to figure out why certain things happened and why the world works the way it does now. My heart is broken. Your life is just beginning. We just talked about how much you are on your tune Excited, how far you’ll come with that ole 6 string, you want to keep making art. Always make other people’s hearts warm, so selfless.” CS went on to say that AJ touched all of their lives, adding.. ….”Angel flying high.”
“The Bund” reportedly began filming its third season earlier this year, and they filmed in Charleston. No charges have been filed and the case is pending.
