Bhavana Menon shared a post on social media about the ordeal she faced in the attack on Malayalam actress Dileep. “It’s not an easy journey. The journey from being a victim to being a survivor,” wrote Bhavana Menon.
“For five years, my name and identity have been suppressed under the weight of attacks on me. While I am not the perpetrator, there have been many attempts to humiliate, silence and isolate me. But at times like these, I have some people who come forward Come out and keep my voice alive. Now, when I hear so many voices speaking for me, I know I’m not alone in this fight for justice,” the actress wrote. And added: “I will continue this journey in order to see justice done, the wrongdoers to be punished, and to ensure that no one else goes through this test again. To all who stood with me – thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Love.”
According to media reports, Bhavana Menon was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted while traveling to Kochi for work in 2017. Four men were allegedly involved in filming the attack. Actor Dileep was arrested as a defendant in the case in July 2017, but was released on bail two months later.
