Beyonce haters can take several seats Robin S. Worried…because Bey’s “Break My Soul” is opening all kinds of doors for ’90s hit producers.
Beyonce’s first single from his six-year studio album sampled Robin’s 1993 hit “Show Me Love”—if your ears aren’t picking it up, you’re in the minority.
Robin tells us that since “Break” came out on Tuesday, she’s been inundated with labels, companies, and artists…all wanting to work with her.
Get ready to hear more ’90s dance vibes—Robin says her team’s phones keep ringing, asking if she’s licensed for her “Show Me Love” master recording for various purposes.
She says the calls are coming from ad agencies, record labels and top DJs…her team is frantically trying to review the proposals as soon as possible. So, if you’ve ever doubted that the Beyoncé effect is real, Robin can testify.
Most of all, though, she’s happy and grateful that Bey sent her flowers while she was still here… an honor that many artists don’t get.
She says “Show Me Love” is her legacy, and having an artist like Queen B recognize and appreciate her music is one of the highest compliments ever.
Robin is already popular — currently touring North America and Europe, and sold out throughout August — but Bey is adding new revenue stream opportunities.
We’ll see where Beyonce’s song peaks, but — for the record — Robin’s OG track hit No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
