Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the and other sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, it was up 0.25%.
The best performer in the meeting is thorns Ltd (ASX: ) rose 11.22% or 1.17 points to 11.60.Meanwhile, Qube Holdings Ltd (ASX: ) rose 5.76% or 0.16 points to trade at 2.94 and Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX: ) was last up 5.26% or 0.13 point to 2.60.
The worst performer of the day was Zip Co Ltd (ASX: ), which was down 4.04% or 0.04 point at 0.95. Polynovo Ltd (ASX: ) lost 3.85% or 0.05 point to 1.25 and Magellan Financial Group Ltd (ASX: ) lost 3.55% or 0.56 point to 15.23.
Advances outnumbered decliners on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 760 to 682, with 376 ending the day unchanged.
The index, which measures the implied volatility of options on the S&P/ASX 200, fell 0.62% to 18.37.
Gold futures for June delivery were down 0.83%, or 14.95, at $1,793.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, crude for July delivery fell 0.87%, or 0.94, to $107.69 a barrel, while July Brent crude fell 1.17%, or 1.31, to $110.24 a barrel.
AUD/USD was flat 0.52% to 0.69, while AUD/JPY shed 0.51% to hit 89.18.
U.S. dollar index futures were down 0.08% at 104.54.
