Atrangi Re’s writer Himanshu Sharma publicly criticized the film. It has been pointed out that it has been insensitive in dealing with mental health issues. In an interview with a major news portal, Himanshu said: “We think of more than just it (mental health). There are many other things, such as love-the debate between perfection and imperfection, the whole of love, what It’s love. The kind of conflict between our expectations of our partners and real people. We want them to be the best people with the highest quality, but real people are flawed. So this movie wants There are many things to express.”
He added: “In the final analysis, this is a movie, not a documentary. This is not a 500-word article about mental illness, but a movie that needs to entertain you. When we write a movie, it I have to adjust to many of the issues I talked about. Sometimes certain things take a back seat, and sometimes the most important thing. Yes, mental health problems exist, but for me as a writer and as a director For Anand (L Rai), bigger things are more like sugar coating. Watching this movie is for what it is, not what you want. Many people have seen it and they know what the movie is talking about, This is why we get so much love.”
