“Over the weekend, a representative indicated that Anne was in stable condition, but the information was inaccurate. She had been in a critical condition and was in a coma following the accident,” a spokesman for Heche told CNN in a statement Monday. “She has severe lung damage requiring mechanical ventilation and burns requiring surgical intervention. She is currently being treated at the Grossman Burn Center.”
Earlier Monday, CNN reported that Heche was under investigation for misdemeanor charges including DUI and hit-and-run, LAPD Sergeant Annie Hernandez said.
Investigators obtained a blood draw order on the day of the incident. They are still awaiting those results, Hernandez said. Hernandez added that once the investigation is complete, the case will be referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.
A representative for Heche told CNN that she has not been able to meet with investigators yet because of her injuries.
Meanwhile, friends of the woman whose home was destroyed in the crash said she “nearly escaped bodily harm”.
“Lynne lives with her beautiful puppies Bree and Rueban and Marley the turtle at their Mar Vista home which was destroyed this week by a car that drove into the home at high speed and the house was on fire,” GoFundMe said. “Lynn and her family suffered little bodily harm, for which we are very, very grateful. However, the house was completely burned down.”
Another of Michler’s neighbors, Roy Morgan, told CNN affiliate KCAL/KCBS that Heche’s car was parked “about two feet from where she was sitting.”
“She’s lucky,” Morgan said of Micheler. “She was shocked…it hadn’t hit her yet. There was nothing in the house. Everything was ruined.”
“Lynne lost her life’s possessions, mementos and all equipment used for her business,” GoFundMe said. “With the help of firefighters, she was able to pull some damaged emotional items from the wreckage. All else was gone. “
