It seems like just yesterday, I got a DVD with a filter for a new NBC series called “This Is Us.”

Yes, that was a long time ago – networks are still mailing DVDs of their new shows.

Nearly six years later, the series ended, leaving many viewers heartbroken every week. It taps into life and family sensibilities in such a way that masterful storytelling is talked about long after the show is off the air.
