Amazon postpones Comixology integration until early 2022

Amazon postponed plans to integrate Comixology procurement and the platform itself into its broader a The company announced this week that the updated Comixology application will be launched in early 2022 instead of 2021 .

The company said in the document: “We hope to spend a little more time to integrate the feedback we received from the community.” “With this goal in mind, we decided to postpone the release time to early next year.”

According to Amazon, the new Comixology application includes improvements to filtering and sorting. It also promises to provide faster and more reliable downloads. The problem is that you need an Amazon account to use the app. More importantly, once the company releases updated software, current Comixology applications will not be able to run after the grace period.

However, the biggest change to be introduced by the app has already gone live this week. You no longer need the Comixology app to read the purchases you make through the platform. Instead, they are also available through the Kindle app. All of this points to a future where Comixology may not exist in the next few years.
