Al Roker missed Macy’s Thanksgiving parade, but is on the mend

Al Roker missed his first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 27 years as he recovered from a health scare.

The famous “Today” meteorologist recently shared that he was hospitalized After a blood clot in his leg traveled to his lung.

“After some medical whack-a-mole, I’ve been blessed to have excellent medical care and am on my way to recovery,” Roker wrote on his verified Instagram account. “Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, hope to see you soon.”

That prevented Roker from traditionally co-hosting the annual parade with his “TODAY” colleagues Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.

NBC meteorologist Dylan Dreyer, who replaced Roque at Thursday’s event, received calls from President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden, who asked about Roque’s current situation.

Dreyer told them her colleague was doing “a great job.”
