Akshay Kumar tests positive for COVID-19, won’t attend 2022 Cannes Film Festival

Akshay Kumar, who is preparing to attend this year’s Cannes Film Festival, has revealed that he has tested positive for the new coronavirus.Due to his positive results, he will not be able to participate in the prestigious event starting on the 17thth May. He shared that he was really looking forward to supporting Indian cinema there.

In a tweet, he mentioned that he won’t be able to attend the Cannes Film Festival this year. The actor wrote: “Really looking forward to supporting our cinemas at the India Pavilion at #Cannes2022 but unfortunately tested positive for Covid. Will take a break. Best wishes to you and your entire team, @ianuragthakur. Will really miss being there.”

Akshay Kumar was first diagnosed with Covid-19 in April 2021. This is the second time he has had a positive result. In a tweet he shared in 2021, he revealed: “I would like to inform everyone that I tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this morning. Following all protocols, I immediately quarantined myself. I am under home quarantine and Necessary medical care has been sought. I sincerely ask everyone who has been in contact with me to self-test and take care of themselves. Will be back in action soon.” He was also hospitalized, and after bringing him home, his wife Twinkle Khanna tweeted: “He is safe and sound, glad to have him back. #allizwell.”

On the job front, Akshay Kumar will next appear on screen at Prithviraj alongside Manushi Chhillar. Former Miss World Manushi is making her Bollywood debut with Prithviraj. Along with them, Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt also play key roles in the film. Prithviraj, a period drama to hit theaters on the 3rdrd June.
