After Dish Network finally offers HBO, Cinemax and HBO Max to its subscribers Kick HBO off its network Nearly three years ago. This is the first time Dish subscribers have been able to watch HBO shows, such as East Town Mare and Euphoria Since the transportation dispute started on October 31, 2018. However, the new agreement does not include the distribution of HBO or HBO Max by Sling TV, a subsidiary of Dish.
When Dish removed the HBO and Cinemax channels, it accused the then parent company AT&T of using HBO as an “economic weapon.”At that time HBO was just a direct cable TV station, but AT&T launches HBO Max As a streaming service similar to Netflix in July 2019. With the current situation resolved, Dish became the last major pay TV distributor to add HBO Max to its lineup.
The decision was made after a major reorganization with WarnerMedia, HBO’s parent company. In May 2021, AT&T Announce It is spinning off the division and merging it with Discovery for $43 billion. This effectively eliminates conflicts of interest because AT&T is a direct competitor of Dish in the field of satellite video service providers. The two parties have not disclosed the terms of the new agreement.
With the agreement now reached, Dish customers can get 10 days of free HBO and Cinemax services from August 6 to 15. If Dish users take action before October 27, 2021, they can subscribe to the HBO Max ad-free plan for $12 instead of the regular price of $15 per month. They will get access to HBO Max, Android, Roku, Apple TV and Fire TV on supported devices such as iOS, as well as live channels including HBO, HBO Family and HBO Signature. Dish TV customers can also get Cinemax for $10 per month.
