6 Questions with Andrew Levine of Koinos Group – Cointelegraph Magazine

We asked builders in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space what they thought about the industry…and added some random zingers to keep them on their toes!

This week, our 6 questions go to Andrew Levine, CEO of Koinos Group, is dedicated to accelerating the transition to a more decentralized future by helping startup developers, entrepreneurs and businesses build disruptive blockchain-based solutions.

Andrew leads a team of industry veterans accelerating decentralization through accessible blockchain technology. Their base product is Koinos, a sensorless blockchain with infinite upgradability and proof-of-burn consensus.

1 — What kind of consolidation do you expect to see in the crypto industry in 2022?

There are too many general-purpose blockchains effectively competing with Ethereum (and each other) to keep fees down. Only so many of them will survive.

2 — If the world is getting a new currency, will it be led by a CBDC, a permissionless blockchain like Bitcoin, or a permissioned chain like Diem?

In the eyes of many, a CBDC would combine the best of both worlds: the internet-native nature of cryptocurrencies and the confidence (and their military prowess) of state-backed assets.if the world is to get one currency, then it is likely to be a state-backed currency (CBDC). If the world were to get many currencies, people would have many choices between permissionless and permissioned.

3 — Do you approve of Bitcoin as a means of payment, as a store of value, both…or neither?

I do not. Because of its age and market depth, it is an entry point into the crypto economy and a safe-haven asset that people use when they lose faith in more speculative crypto assets.

4 – Can we figure out who Satoshi Nakamoto is or was? Why or why not?

It doesn’t. He’s just someone who combines a bunch of existing ideas into innovative solutions.

5 — Do you think the government will try to kill cryptocurrencies?

No, there is too much tax potential.

6 – If you didn’t need to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

I will spend more time with my children.

One wish for the young, ambitious blockchain community:

Focus on creating real value.
