2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games Men’s Champion: Justin Medeiros
Justin Medeiros Competing in the 2020 CrossFit Games as a rookie and immediately finishing third in bronze made his presence felt. In 2021, Medeiros became the youngest ever Olympic champion, and this year he won gold again and was recognized as “the fittest man on earth” for the second time. While the Californian didn’t win a single event in the race, he was consistent enough to earn the overall title and $310,000 in prize money, eventually beating Ricky Garard, who had topped the list for the first 3 days.
2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games Women’s Champion: Tia-Clair Toomey
Tia-Clair Toomey made history with her sixth straight win on Sunday. That’s more than any other athlete (Matt Frazier won 5 times). While Toomey was the clear favorite to race, she had to work hard for the gold medal and was forced to recover from a low 8th on Day 1. The Australian has won just two of 13 matches this year, compared to nine. Of the 15 in 2021, she was challenged by rising women’s star Mal O’Brien (she came in second). Now $310,000 rich, with rumors that 2022 could be Toomey’s last game, what an incredible legacy she has left for athletes if that turns out to be true.
