Last Wednesday the Chicago Blackhawks vs. Jets game was postponed, so the players Caleb Jones and Connor Murphy tried Have a great dinner… But in the restaurant, the thief allegedly lifted the valet and hijacked the two players’ cars, TMZ Sports Learned.
Law enforcement sources told us that at around 8pm on December 29, 24-year-old Jones and 28-year-old Murphy were having dinner just a few blocks from the United Center. We were told that when these people were inside, the thief approached the personal servants, stuffed an unknown object on their backs, and asked for the car keys.
Murphy’s 2017 Porsche Panamera and Jones’ 2021 Jeep Trackhawk were both taken away. When brand new, Panamera sells for more than US$100,000…and Trackhawk sells for more than US$90,000.
Chicago police are currently investigating the suspected crime.
It is unclear whether Jones and Murphy were the targets…or whether the theft was random.
As for the player’s career… defensive player Caleb was ranked 117th in the 2015 NHL Draft (Edmonton Oilers). He played 11 games for the Blackhawks this season…this was his first game in the organization.
Caleb comes from a sports family.His brother Seth Jones Also a member of the Blackhawks…His father is a former NBA player, “Popeye” Jones.
Connor is also a defensive player. He was the 20th overall pick for the Coyotes in 2011. He played 29 games for the team this season.
We contacted the Blackhawks…but so far, there has been no response.
